Pune (Maharashtra) [India], February 28: The cutting edge minimally invasive techniques for vision correction invented by Pune based eye surgeon Dr. Jeevan Ladi is transforming the field of laser vision.
Explaining a recent case, Dr. Jeevan Ladi, Founder of Dada Eye Laser Institute said that a 30 year old male from Sudan came to his clinic in the first week of January 2025.
Dr. Ladi added that the challenge in thin cornea is that there isn’t enough tissue to adequately correct refractive errors. But the technique of Variable Optic Zone (VOZ) works by utilising the concept of minimal tissue consumption depending on the size of the pupil.
The procedure was performed on the Sudanese male on 4th January 2025. He regained his natural vision quickly and was very happy with the result. He went back to Sudan on 8th January 2025.

Pune-based Ophthalmologist Dr. Jeevan Ladi has developed a new eye procedure called Variable Optic Zone (VOZ) to correct vision in patients with high Myopia and thin Corneas. This technique preserves over 30% of Corneal tissue and, when combined with Shearing Applied Force Extraction (SAFE), facilitates rapid vision recovery. A 30-year-old patient from Sudan, who had high Myopia and thin Corneas, underwent the VOZ procedure on January 5 and returned to Sudan three days later with improved vision. Dr. Ladi highlighted that this method is particularly beneficial for individuals with thin Corneas, a common characteristic among Indians, and is suitable for vision correction in individuals aged 18 to 60 aiming to eliminate the need for glasses.
