At Dada Laser Eye Institute, we excel at determining the underlying cause of Uveitis and tailoring treatment to eliminate inflammation and avert vision loss.
Types of Uveitis
- Anterior Uveitis (Iritis): Most frequent, affects front of eye
- Intermediate Uveitis: Involves the vitreous and peripheral Retina
- Posterior Uveitis: Involves the Retina or choroid
- Panuveitis: Involves all Uveal layers
Common Causes
- Autoimmune diseases (E.g., Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis)
- Infections (E.g., Herpes, Tuberculosis)
- Systemic conditions (E.g., Sarcoidosis)
- Trauma or postoperative inflammation
Diagnosis
DLEI employs:
- Slit-lamp biomicroscopy
- Fundus imaging and fluorescein angiography
- Blood tests and systemic examinations for underlying conditions
Treatment
- Corticosteroids (Eye drops, oral or injections)
- Immunosuppressive treatment of chronic or autoimmune conditions
- Antibiotics/antivirals if infectious
- Cycloplegic drops to alleviate pain and avoid synechiae
Our specialists aim at both suppressing inflammation and avoiding complications such as Cataracts, Glaucoma, or Macular Edema. Frequent follow-up and multidisciplinary treatment are frequently required.
At DLEI, we integrate Ophthalmic and systemic treatment to address the underlying cause of Uveitis and restore comfort to patients while maintaining long-term vision.
